Education I became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1977, working in nursing homes, doctor’s offices, and a hospital, including private duty and have done insurance physicals for insurance companies. I became licensed as a Certified Professional Midwife November 2002.

My midwifery education started in 2000 apprenticing with a Nashville midwife, of twenty years experience. I presently do postpartum care for Natchez Trace Maternity Center, and I trained at Casa DeNacimiento Birthing Center in El Paso TX.  I studied through the Ancient Art of Midwifery correspondence course. Assisted with over 100 births (one of which was a breech), and caught over 45 (delivered) myself. I have completed phlebotomy, IV therapy and suturing workshops, along with others on prenatal testing and newborn testing. I am certified in CPR and neonatal resuscitation.

 Experience My interest in the healing properties of herbs and vitamins began while working in a doctor’s office, and developing this interest more when we moved to the country. My husband and I later went into partnership with in a health food store here in our local town. Over the years I have had the opportunity to offer council and advice in nutrition through cooking schools and bread making demonstrations.

After having breastfeed my own two children, I have encouraged and advised women over the past 20 years in the art of breastfeeding. I am continually advancing my skills by taking classes and attending seminars to properly advise nursing mothers with the best techniques of breastfeeding.

Personal Information I, reside in Centerville Tennessee, in the unincorporated farming community of Coble, with my husband Walter. I am the mother of two children. I feel one of the greatest contributing factors I have to add to my midwifery is my experience in life, 27 years gaining practical insight and wisdom as a wife and mother and in homeshooling our two children.
